The Newfoundland and Labrador commercial industry has been a proud supporter in raising funds and generating smiles for the Janeway Children’s Hospital for the past several years. In what has become an annual tradition, the commercial industry comes together during the weekend of the Janeway Telethon to raise funds to help the sick kids who use the hospital facilities each and every year.

This weekend, events are planned in both Corner Brook (Saturday, June 6) and St. John’s (Sunday, June 7) as dozens of big trucks form a convoy and travel through their respective cities. For the sick kids, they get the added treat of seeing the trucks as they drive by the hospital.

Marine Atlantic is proud to support our partners in the Newfoundland and Labrador trucking industry and is sponsoring a barbecue as a small token of appreciation for these community heroes. If you see the convoy this weekend, please give a smile, a beep of your horn, or a wave of your hand. While our commercial drivers make sure store shelves are always stocked, this weekend they demonstrate much more. Not only do they drive big trucks, they also have very big hearts!
