Marine Atlantic’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year

by Tara Laing

At Marine Atlantic, we are proud to give back to the communities we work in. We invest in and support the port towns of Port aux Basques, Argentia, and North Sydney, along with the surrounding areas. Many of our employees also volunteer and invest countless hours giving back to their hometowns. Marine Atlantic’s Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded to an employee who volunteers their time and skills to support their community. Mary MacIntyre-Cormier works at the North Sydney terminal and is this year’s Volunteer of the Year. For well over a decade Mary has graciously volunteered to assist others. She spearheads events in support of the Atlantic Burn Camp, participates in the Run for the Cure and is an active member of her church. Mary is a volunteer with a Christmas Cheer group where she helps prepare meals for the less fortunate during the holidays. Mary is also an active employee, giving her time to help organize the annual Christmas Party and company float.

Mary presents $1000.00 cheque to the Atlantic Burn Camp as part of her Volunteer of the Year Award Prize
