Over the past five years, Marine Atlantic has undertaken a significant renewal process to upgrade our fleet, infrastructure and business processes. All of these investments and improvements are designed to strengthen the travel experience that you, our customers, enjoy when using our service.

So, if you are travelling with us in the near future, what can you expect to see? The simple answer, lots of workers doing lots of work as a continuation of our renewal activities! In North Sydney, the construction of our new terminal building is well underway. The steel structure is  erected and work is focusing on  enclosing the building to  allow interior construction work to begin in the coming weeks. Similar to building a house, we are all excited to see the walls put up, the floors poured and the electricity start to flow.  We expect this new building to be open and operational in fiscal year 2015-16 offering our customers new amenities in a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly facility.

In Port aux Basques, the terminal building has recently undergone significant interior and exterior renovations. New facilities and amenities are available for the use of customers with a much more modern look and feel. If you have not used our service over the past few years, please take a few moments to experience the changes that have taken place.

If you are planning to use our seasonal Argentia service this summer, docking infrastructure upgrades are currently underway and will be ready by this upcoming travel season. These upgrades will provide increased reliability and safety to our operations.

There is certainly lots happening at Marine Atlantic and we look forward to sharing these upgrades with our customers. We look forward to welcoming you on board during your next travel experience!
